Heidi Nagtegaal is an artist, writer and facilitator living in Vancouver, BC. After recieving her BFA from ECUAD in 2005, Nagtegaal has gone on to found local arts initiatives such as The Hammock Residency and Headbands and Bracelets.
She has recently exhibited in the Tate Modern (London, UK) for the No Soul For Sale: A Festival of Independents, with the Western Front, Äkkigalleria (Jyväskylä, Finland), Burnaby Art Gallery, Richmond Art Gallery, CSA, Signal + Noise, and many others.
This summer she is organizing the Backyard Music Festival, through the Hammock Residency, employing public guestures with the Front Magazine, participating in a rigorous studio practice, and aiming for a Cross-Country Headbands and Bracelets Tour, destination: the east coast. She was recently featured in C Magazine for her guerrilla performance piece, Redirecting Traffic, for their "Cultural Programing in Vancouver During the 2010 Winter Olympics" piece.
