Lauren Wood - May 2010 to present
During my high school career at Collingwood School, I was clearly interested in the Fine Arts; futhering tuning my skills through assisting the art department's Annual Student Art Exhibitions, and becoming a Teacher's Aid during my graduating year.

I am entering into my final year of my BFA at the Emily Carr Univeristy of Art + Design, of which I am focusing on Sculpture, First Nations Studies, and Contemporary Art History. During my time at ECUAD, I have gained skills and experience with metal fabrication, mold making, wood fabrication, and ceramics, through a vigorous combination of classes, assignments, and studio practice.

In 2009, I had the opportunity to work as a curator, alongside Jeneen Frei Njootli, for the ECUAD Annual Aboriginal Student Arts Exhibition, Internal | External. Presently, I have been asked to sit on the Jury for the Harmony Arts Festival 2010 Craft Market, and have become an intern for the Hammock Residency.

Saying Hello and Thank You!
Dear Friends,

I would like to say thank you for all the support!  To tell you the truth, no one even knew about the residency until Francisco did his residency for Christmas 2008.  Then it went public.  Before then, I was just sneaking you in the Hammock when you came to visit from out of town.

Due to the fact that sometimes events are useful to flushing out ideas, we have some events now!  Please come by and drink some beers with us.  I'll make up some cheezy Hammock Residency mugs up so that you can drink coffee at home with us, too.
